Cryptocurrency market maker and liquidity provider, B2C2 has appointed Karolina Obalkowska as the Head of KYC/Client Onboarding.

Karolina Obalkowska

Karolina brings with her a wealth of experience in the financial sector, specifically in roles related to KYC (Know Your Customer) and client onboarding. Her extensive background spans various reputable financial institutions where she held positions across sales and marketing functions in her early days. Prior to B2C2, Karolina spent more than four years in an analogous role at Finalto.

Obalkowska’s career journey began in 2005 when she assumed the position of Sales and Marketing Support Executive at XL Leisure Group. Over the years, she has steadily climbed the ranks, assuming positions at global banks and top brokers such as RBS Sempra Commodities, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Société Générale, and Freepoint Commodities.

Per her Linkedin profile, these roles allowed her to develop an understanding of legal and compliance matters in the financial industry, a skill set that seamlessly transitions into the world of cryptocurrencies. Each position equipped her with unique insights into risk assessment, compliance procedures, and the intricacies of client onboarding, she adds.

In her new role at B2C2, she will be tasked with maintaining high compliance standards and providing seamless onboarding experience for their clients. As the cryptocurrency market continues to expand and mature, having a dedicated professional like Obalkowska overseeing these critical processes adds a layer of trust to B2C2’s operations.

B2C2 offer a similar experience to FX trading

B2C2 is one of the largest OTC brokers/market makers in the crypto space and ‎provides related liquidity services. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in ‎London, the privately held company advertises its offering as a solution that bridges ‎the gap between traditional financial and cryptocurrency markets.‎

B2C2’s offering allows clients to take positions in the underlying OTC markets with a greater focus on offering a similar experience to trading on traditional FX platforms.‎

B2C2, which was fully acquired by Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Holdings in 2020, expanded its offering beyond crypto to include 24/7 FX trading. B2C2’s clients can view and execute their trades on a real-time two-way market through a point-and-click interface and also monitor live pricing in defined quantities.

SBI already uses B2C2’s liquidity to support its clients trading cryptocurrencies while B2C2 reportedly plans to tap SBI’s resources to support a full prime brokerage service for both crypto and other asset classes.

This brought in further trading and portfolio management functionality to the London-based cryptocurrency liquidity provider’s customer base, with the possibility for further integrations in the future.
