The certification covers a broad spectrum of BMLL’s information security management system (ISMS), encompassing people, processes, and technology involved in the UK development, operation, and administration of various BMLL services including BMLL Vantage, Data Feed, Data Lab, and Exchange Market Participant Analytics on a global scale.

BMLL Technologies Limited, a notable provider of Level 3 Historical Data and Analytics to the global capital markets sector, has earned the prestigious ISO 27001 certification, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to ensuring robust information security.

The ISO 27001 standard, which is internationally acknowledged, sets forth stringent requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS), guiding organizations on the secure management of information, encompassing pertinent security controls.

The achievement came after a rigorous independent audit, which validated BMLL’s compliance with ISO 27001, attesting to its systematic and ongoing approach towards safeguarding both company and customer data. This certification now stands as a beacon of trust for international businesses looking to leverage BMLL’s offerings, ensuring them that BMLL adheres to best security practices.

Shane Moore, the Head of Information Security at BMLL, emphasized the company’s dedication to fostering trust through third-party security validations such as ISO 27001. While BMLL already operates on ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified hosting platforms, Moore stressed the importance of software companies demonstrating security and trust independently. The validation from a third party, affirming BMLL’s security management processes, is a crucial step in bolstering confidence among its clientele, both existing and prospective.

David Robinson, the Chief Technology Officer at BMLL, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the pressing demand within the Financial Services sector for vendors to prioritize information security in their service delivery. The ISO 27001 certification is a testimony to BMLL’s commitment to providing the requisite protections in a cyber threat-laden world.

BMLL Technologies, born out of the machine learning laboratories of the University of Cambridge in 2014, stands at the forefront of providing harmonized Level 3 historical data and analytics to a diverse clientele including banks, brokers, asset managers, and global exchange groups, among others. With a rich trove of granular Level 3, T+1 order book data and advanced analytics, BMLL propels market understanding, research acceleration, trading strategy optimization, and predictable alpha generation.

The platform obviates the need for data purchase, curation, and harmonization, offering a cloud-native Data Science environment through a single web portal. BMLL’s recent Series B funding round, which amassed $26 million, led by prominent investors including Nasdaq Ventures, FactSet, and IQ Capital’s Growth Fund, alongside Snowflake Ventures joining in September 2023, fuels its trajectory towards further product and geographic expansion.
