Rick Steves

“The industry needs access to core infrastructure for crypto and digital assets that specifically aligns to institutional requirements.”

Bosonic has appointed Yvo van Amerongen as Client Solutions Director of the decentralized Financial Market Infrastructure (dFMI) business.

As Client Solutions Director, he will be leading the recently announced Bosonic Cross-Custodian Net Settlement Working Group, which is partnering with digital asset custodians globally.

His role also includes supporting collaboration between the custodians and the institutional clients such as Hedge Funds, Family Offices, Private Banks, Brokers and Banks on the Bosonic Network.

The Bosonic Network offers a liquidity and custodian agnostic infrastructure for institutional clients to connect to exchanges and market makers.

The network enables a payment versus payment atomic swap for instantaneous settlement on a layer-2 blockchain operated by digital asset custodians.

Eliminating counterparty credit and settlement risk

Jason Nabi, Bosonic’s Chief Revenue Officer, said: “We are delighted to welcome Yvo to our growing team as we continue to bring a mix of TradFi and crypto talent together to form a world-class team. Working with the best institutional custodians, from across the world, is a key strategic focus for Bosonic and the recent launch of the Cross-Custodian Net Settlement Working Group is a market-defining initiative to establish a unique global post-trade solution for crypto and digital assets for institutional clients that eliminates counterparty credit and settlement risk. We are very pleased to have Yvo help lead this work bringing in his experience and understanding of the industry as we scale our business.”

Yvo van Amerongen, Client Solutions Director, added: “This is a really exciting time to join Bosonic. I’ve been really impressed by their achievements and value proposition. The industry needs access to core infrastructure for crypto and digital assets that specifically aligns to institutional requirements. The Bosonic Network and the company’s wider work with digital asset custodians is an industry-leading proposition and I am looking forward to helping drive the growth of the business.”

Yvo van Amerongen has previously held roles at BNP Paribas, Euroclear, Deutsche Bank, Clearstream and more recently worked at UBS on post-trade and custody strategy, bringing over 20 years of post-trade and custody experience to Bosonic.

Bosonic’s cross-custodian net settlement platform supports:

  • institutional cross-custodian trading and payments with net settlement calculations and movements,
  • Atomic burn and reallocation of netted quantities on Layer-2 blockchain together with physical movement of residual quantities for digital assets and fiat currencies on Layer-1 Smart Contracts
  • Interoperability with relevant stablecoins for the fiat residuals

Bosonic has recently launched a clearing and settlement solution for digital assets that removes the dependency on bilateral credit or a central counterparty, the decentralized Financial Market Infrastructure (dFMI) announced.

Going by the name of Bosonic Enterprise Solutions, the service provides Bosonic’s Layer-2 blockchain solution designed to support payment versus payment (PvP) instantaneous clearing and settlement of digital assets and fiat currencies that already underpins the Bosonic Network.

Bosonic said regulated financial market infrastructure organizations and banks looking to launch digital asset capabilities have shown interest in such a clearing and settlement solution, as well as digital asset exchanges in need of post-trade clearing and settlement technology to eliminate counterparty credit and settlement risk.
