BTIG appoints Steve Marchini to lead electronic trading sales

BTIG has appointed Steve Marchini as Managing Director of its Electronic Trading Sales division, where he will focus on proprietary trading technology to help clients monitor performance, manage costs and make informed trading decisions.

BTIG’s Electronic Trading business is an agency-only platform that delivers access to liquidity, transparency and flexibility for clients located around the globe. The division offers intelligent electronic trading tools and an unbiased approach to low-touch execution.

Career at Macquarie, FactSet, Aritas, and JP Morgan

Steve Marchini joins BTIG from Macquarie Asset Management, where he was a Lead Consultant. His extensive institutional trading experience includes prior leading roles such as being the Alpha Pro-Chief Operating Officer at FactSet Research Systems-Portware and Head of Electronic Sales and Trading at Aritas Securities. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director at JPMorgan Investment Management.

The prime broker operates across the globe with 700 employees and affiliates throughout the U.S., and in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

As for core capabilities, BTIG offers global execution, portfolio, electronic and outsource trading, transition management, investment banking, prime brokerage, capital introduction, corporate access, research and strategy, and commission management.

Earlier this month, BTIG appointed Pavi Sidhu as Managing Director within its Equities division, based in the prime broker’s London office, and with the mission to expand the EMEA Portfolio Trading and ETF businesses.

The Global Portfolio and ETF Trading division at BTIG executes portfolios across developed, emerging, and frontier markets.  The firm develops solutions for rebalances, cash flow trades and index events worldwide.

Pavi Sidhu is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in Portfolio Trading, having joined BTIG from Exane, where he was Managing Director and Partner, with a focus on Portfolio Trading, ETFs and Index.

In February, BTIG hired Bradford Ainslie as Managing Director within its Institutional Equities business to increase the client reach of BTIG and expand the ability of the firm to source liquidity.
