Ultra-modern, highly technologically advanced, and at the cutting edge of the world of financial services and technology, the FX industry heralds executives who are ambitious, enthusiastic and upwardly mobile.
In its relative infancy compared to the hierarchical, wood-paneled institutions of traditional banking, FX represents all that is urbane and fast moving, hence the lack of a metaphorical ‘glass ceiling’. With this dynamism comes the rise to success of several ladies whose prominence in senior management positions across the entire FX industry, from social trading, to interactive educational systems, to signal provision, platform engineering, events, and brokerage.
FinanceFeeds spoke to Tamara Manoni, Senior Marcom Manager at MarketsPulse, a technology led enterprise binary options platform provider based in Herzliya, Israel.
How did you get into the industry and where did it all start?
With a background in Marcom and having moved to the “Start-Up Nation” (Israel), I was introduced to MarketsPulse, which I immediate found to be an intriguing challenge. For the last 4 years my position in the company has offered me the opportunity to make great strides in my career.
Have you faced any challenges and how did you overcome them?
One of the challenges as a fintech company in a growing and highly competitive industry has been to build and maintain our reputation as a prominent provider. Over the years we’ve upheld this position by creating a clear cut marketing strategy, placing an emphasis on our unique qualities whilst keeping high standards which are notable within the industry.
Any interesting anecdotes from your own background and how this helped you succeed?
Previously working for an NGO, I had never imagined myself working in the fintech industry. Thus far in my position I’ve had the opportunity to work with and meet several influential people.
Any views on the role of women within the financial services?
Beginning my career within the financial and technology services, I had the opportunity to work under a female CEO. Although the industry is male dominated, MarketsPulse’s former CEO was an inspirational figure that showed me success in this industry is in the person and not the gender. Over the years I’ve seen more women forging through in executive positions further showing the industry holds many open doors, regardless of gender.
