Deutsche Börse AG sets forth its “Horizon 2026” strategy focusing on organic growth, acquisition synergies, and digital advancements to solidify its market position.

Deutsche Börse AG, during its Investor Day, introduced the “Horizon 2026” strategy, charting a path toward sustained organic growth and expansion through strategic acquisitions and technological advancements.

Aiming for a 7% annual organic growth complemented by a 3% increase from the acquisition of SimCorp, Deutsche Börse sets a target for a 10% average annual increase in net revenue.

Investment Management Solutions and Digital Platforms

The new Investment Management Solutions segment is poised to become a strategic cornerstone with its high growth potential and recurring revenues. By integrating ISS, STOXX, Axioma, and SimCorp, the segment is expected to contribute significantly to the Group’s EBITDA through synergies and enhanced cost efficiencies, particularly around €90 million.

Deutsche Börse aims to extend its leadership in digital solutions, with a focus on cloud usage, Clearstream’s D7 platform, and a new trading platform for digital asset classes. The necessary initial investments are already included in the Horizon 2026 strategy, while the long-term positive effects on the Group’s revenues are not included.

A refined capital management plan includes more active share buy-backs, beginning with a €300 million initiative in Q1 2024, while targeting a dividend payout of 30-40% of net profit to shareholders.

Theodor Weimer, CEO of Deutsche Börse, highlights the strategy’s natural evolution, underpinned by strong organic growth, the new IMS segment’s implementation, and a leading role in asset class digitalization.

“Over the past years, we have expanded our strong business model significantly into higher growth and recurring revenue areas. Horizon 2026 is a natural evolution of our strategy and mainly based on three strategic imperatives: first, the continued delivery of strong organic growth, which has been a proven strength of Deutsche Börse over the last years. Second, the successful implementation of the new Investment Management Solutions segment with its strong growth and high synergy potential. And last but not least we want to expand our leading role in the digitalization of asset classes”, said Weimer.
