FinanceFeeds Podcast Ep. #3: Elina Pedersen talks Your Bourse, hiring, Estonia after Soviet rule

Elina Pedersen has been a key element at Your Bourse since 2016.

The FinanceFeeds Podcast has released its third episode today, this time with an interview with Elina Pedersen, Co-CEO and CRO of Your Bourse, the leading fintech offering solutions for the retail and institutional MT4/MT5 brokers.

Nikolai Isayev, Editor-in-Chief at FinanceFeeds, hosted the podcast that covered a range of topics, including the upcoming expos, the new features and tools released by Your Bourse, hiring talent in Estonia and Cyprus, life in Estonia under Soviet rule, and even horse riding.

A look at Elina Pedersen’s background

Elina Pedersen has been a key element at Your Bourse since 2016 after having spent another six years at FX and CFD broker Admirals (formerly known as Admiral Markets).

Her career path includes roles in Estonia, the United States, and the UK. Her education path is similarly well traveled: Estonia, Australia, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

Elina and Nikolai, who share a Soviet past, spoke about the complexities of leaving the USSR behind while still acknowledging the Russian heritage of a part of the Estonian demographic.

She told Nikolai that the transition to an independent Estonia saw schools progressively changing the curriculum, in language, history, literature, etc. Still, in the name of democracy and free speech, the country allows there to be Russian schools for the russophones.

Your Bourse’s new features, hiring in Estonia and Cyprus

Episode #3 of the FinanceFeeds Podcast also covers the work of Your Bourse as of late, including the “plenty of developments in the past two months”.

“The quality still fascinates me to this day”, she said, as she enumerated the recent additions to Your Bourse’s offering since the latest Expo, including corporate actions, a commission module, and redesigned data extraction.

Ms. Pedersen took the opportunity to announce the firm’s plan to release a socket API by mid-September to prove how the team at YouBourse remains incredibly busy.

This led to the next topic: hiring in Tallin, Estonia versus Limassol, Cyprus. Both cities and countries deserved praise for their pools of talent, which differ in area of specialization.

Elina Pedersen pointed to Estonia as a high quality pool of talent of software developers and Cyprus as a first choice for operations, including professionals specialized in MetaQuotes products.

The interview included a brief discussion about the ‘crypto winter’ and the acknowledgment of the widespread adoption of crypto products, which even the regulators can’t ignore and are now starting to accept and developing proper regulatory frameworks.
