GCEX’s DeFi education and prime brokerage offering available in DubaiVerse

“We are excited to be part of the developments of The Sandbox and to join other top players in the region, including our regulator, Dubai’s Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA), as part of the DubaiVerse. This is a great opportunity to bridge the gap between Web3 early adopters and GCEX clients, building a community around Web3 and digital assets.”

GCEX, the digital prime brokerage that is part of the GCEX Group, will serve as a financial ambassador for the DubaiVerse hub, a Web3 space that will be home to some of Dubai’s major brands and partners.

DubaiVerse was created by the Sandbox, a decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands.

GCEX given LAND on which to build immersive experience

The partnership provides GCEX with LAND in The Sandbox on which to build and publish immersive experiences for gamers and GCEX’s clients, who include brokers, hedge funds, family offices, and professional traders. GCEX will be tasked with creating an education and client engagement platform within the DubaiVerse.

Gamers and companies wishing to access the open metaverse can access GCEX’s space in the DubaiVerse for education on decentralised finance (DeFi) and on GCEX’s digital prime brokerage offering for institutional and professional clients.

The collaboration aims to bring to life the history of money through an exciting game set in a magical financial world. GCEX’s clients will also be able to access exclusive content and educational assets.

GCEX Group enables institutional clients to access deep liquidity in digital assets and also offers a range of technology solutions. It has offices in London, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai and a presence in Hong Kong, and is regulated by the UK’s FCA, the Danish FSA and has been granted a Virtual Asset Service Provider Licence for the MVP phase by the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority. GCEX has secured investment from TGV4 Plus.

“GCEX to enter the Web3 space with a gaming experience and engagement platform”

Lars Holst, Founder and CEO of GCEX, commented: “This partnership enables GCEX to enter the Web3 space with a gaming experience and engagement platform as part of the DubaiVerse ecosystem. As a financial institution, acquiring LAND to secure and store the assets that will be part of the GCEX experience puts us at the forefront of this innovative new world.”

Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, added: “Every day, The Sandbox grows in stature as a global cultural hub that connects diverse communities, and we look forward to having GCEX serve as a financial ambassador for the DubaiVerse hub. Decentralized finance is central to the Creator Economy we’re promoting, and engagement with the financial community will strengthen and promote understanding of true digital ownership.”

“I’m very happy to have a finance firm like GCEX coming to The Sandbox as part of the initiative we are currently working on in the region, which is definitely growing as a Web3 global hub,” said Bertrand Levy, Vice President of The Sandbox.

GCEX is a pioneering regulated digital prime brokerage with a best-of-breed digital asset and FX platform for institutional and professional clients. Founded by industry veteran Lars Holst, the firm has partnerships with Tier 1 trusted Liquidity Providers, leading counterparties and regulated digital custody asset institutions.
