Money has been known to move mountains, but often times, a simple thank you can make a huge difference in showing a customer you care. When every other shop in town is giving out the same rewards, bonuses and freebies, showing your gratitude to customers in a personalized and sincere way can do wonders. “Thanks” certainly has a nice ring to it, but I’m talking about creative, fun and memorable ways to thank your clients. Show your customers you are grateful in one (or more) of these ways:
Teach them something new
Hold regular events or webinars, bring experts in the field to share their knowledge, write a blog or a white paper and offer free coaching to show your customers you care about their success. The more educated your customers are, the more they’ll appreciate your service and trust your company.
Wow one single customer
For once, throw rational thought out the window and think big, huge even. Wow one customer with a customer experience so amazing, they’ll be talking about it for days and weeks. Be the next amazing customer service story on social media.
Reward loyalty
Customers love the red carpet treatment. Establish a rewards program geared towards showing appreciation to your most loyal customers. Read our article about loyalty programs for some creative ideas.
Put a customer on the spot
Call out a special customer on Twitter or Facebook to let them know how much you appreciate having them as a customer. Use the 140-characters to congratulate them on their birthday. Feature your oldest client or a “client of the month” on your website for example.
Show them you value their feedback
Touch base with customers to let them know you’ve implemented changes based on their suggestions. The best way to keep the communication open with a customer is by showing them you listen to what they have to say.
Give a gift
Instead of giving a gift to your clients though, give a gift or make a contribution in their name to their favorite charity. Reach out to a select group of valued traders and tell them you’d like to make a contribution in their name. This will help them see you as more than just a dollar sign and give you some insight into what is important to your clients.
