LMAX Group names Sean Cleary head of Americas liquidity and analytics

LMAX Group, an operator of institutional venues for forex and cryptocurrency trading, has lured FX industry veteran Sean Cleary to join the firm as head of liquidity management and analytics for Americas.

Based out of New York, where he spent the bulk of his 20-year career, Sean will report to Patrick Bartle, managing director for Americas at LMAX Group. He brings two decades of institutional FX industry experience to this position, having grown and developed global sales teams for market infrastructure players.

Sean joins LMAX Group from Silicon Valley-based Integral Development Corp., a provider of end-to-end electronic trading platforms. There, he held a senior management position as head of the company’s Open Currency Exchange (OCX).

Prior to that, Sean served as global head of FX sales at Cboe Global Markets, a position he held for nearly four years. Other stops in his career, which dates back to 2000, includes a range of senior level roles with global brokerage firms and investment banks, including Currenex, BNP Paribas and ICAP.

In his new role, Sean will oversee liquidity and analytics business across LMAX Group’s product suite for all clients in the Americas. In addition, he will participate in devising and executing the group’s institutional FX growth strategy in the region.

LMAX offers exchange style execution for OTC-traded FX products, such as spot FX. In addition, the company’s portfolio covers several assets classes and markets, including cryptocurrency, precious metals, commodities, and equity indices. The company operates institutional crypto exchange LMAX Digital, as well as FX execution venues such as LMAX Exchange (FCA regulated MTF) and LMAX Global (FCA regulated broker).
