OKX and Manchester City announce ‘Blue Moon’ NFTs

Rick Steves

Called ‘Blue Moon’, the new NFT offering was designed by Charli Cohen, who took inspiration from the song itself which is played before every home game and serves as the anthem of Manchester City fans.

Manchester City

The cooperation between OKX and Manchester City has now resulted in a new NFT offering with the launch of the second design of ‘Unseen City Shirts’.

The campaign features re-designed, commemorative football shirts that can be minted as digital collectibles (NFTs) that can be minted by fans looking to redeem exclusive prizes.

Each collectible minted will randomly be assigned a rarity level – Classic, Rare, or Ultra Rare. Depending on the rarity of the digital collectible, fans have a chance to win exclusive prizes including a limited-edition physical version of the specially designed football shirt and tickets to Manchester City matches.

Called ‘Blue Moon’, the new NFT offering was designed by Charli Cohen, who took inspiration from the song itself which is played before every home game and serves as the anthem of Manchester City fans. The shirt design illustrates phases of the lunar cycle with a subtle touch of the OKX brand on the shoulders integrating its brand colors.

OKX sponsors Manchester City since 2022

OKX is the Official Sleeve Partner of Manchester City. Their partnership began in March 2022, when OKX was named by City as the “Club’s Official Cryptocurrency Exchange Partner”. The deal marked OKX’s first venture into the world of sport and entertainment. The sponsorship was expanded in July 2022 when OKX became the Club’s Official Training Kit Partner for the 2022/23 season.

In June 2023, OKX was named the Club’s Official Sleeve Partner in a new multi-year agreement. As part of the new deal, the OKX brand features on the left sleeve of both the men’s and women’s first team playing kits and will retain its position on the left sleeve of the first team training kits, in addition to appearing across further digital and physical club assets.

The partnership has introduced the brand to millions of football fans around the world through Web3 experiences such as the OKX Collective, and the recently launched ‘my fabric’ episodic campaign, featuring Manchester City’s OKX global brand ambassadors Jack Grealish, Rúben Dias, Alex Greenwood and Ederson.

OKX partners with a number of the world’s top brands and athletes, including English Premier League champions Manchester City F.C., McLaren Formula 1, The Tribeca Festival, golfer Ian Poulter, Olympian Scotty James, and F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo.
