Slovakia ensured continue of Ukraine natural gas supply through the reversible gas connections. This happened during a meeting between the Slovak President Andrej Kiska and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko. Ukraine receives between 27 and 30 million cubic meters of natural gas per day through reversible relations between the two countries. Deliveries began on 2nd September 2014 after gas operators on both sides – Ukrtransgazom and Eustream, Ukraine and Slovakia signed the agreement. It was agreed to supply 6.4 billion cubic meters of Ukraine natural gas supply annually.
Notwithstanding the reduction in supplies from Russia Slovakia will reduce those amounts agreed to presidents of both parties.
“Slovakia ensure that we observe the reverse of the gas. Ukraine wants to create a gas hub”, said social networking press secretary of the Ukrainian president.
Currently in Bratislava is a meeting of heads of state of the Visegrad countries (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic). Its guest is also invited the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
We remind that Ukraine receives gas from Hungary, Slovakia and Poland after the Gazprom stopped deliveries because of unspecified liabilities Naftogaz and a dispute over the price of the raw material. In late October, the EU, Ukraine and Russia managed to negotiate a winter supply of natural gas.
