SquaredFinancial snatches CFO from Capital.com

Stathis Flangofas

SquaredFinancial has appointed Stathis Flangofas as Chief Financial Officer to help deliver innovative and strategic control-based financial management.

Mr. Flangofas is an experienced Chartered Certified Accountant(ACCA) with more than 12 years of experience. He will join the SF’s Executive Management team based in Cyprus from Capital.com, where he was Group CFO.

At Capital.com, Mr. Flangofas led the group’s financial planning, including managing Cash Flows and ensuring funds availability, Cysec & FCA reporting, monitoring the daily client funds reconciliation, and developing the yearly Business plan.

As CFO, he will be expected to provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team, and engage the CEO in decision making. Internal controls, monthly budgets, monthly consolidated management accounts, relationships with external auditors, banks, and PSPs, are also under his scope.

During his time at Capital.com, he was also CFO at Currency.com, a regulated tokenized securities exchange. While as CFO at SquaredFinancial, Mr. Flangofas will remain Non-Executive Director at HYCM, acting as Chairman of the risk management committee.

SquaredFinancial has recently promoted Philios Petrides to Chief Data Officer. He will be responsible to lead the digital transformation of the company with the goal of making the firm a leader in the development and application of enterprise data.

Covering the three interlinked areas of governance, operations, and business development, Mr. Petrides will focus on implementing the insights offered by big data to improve the products and services delivered to SquaredFinancial’s clients.

His career within the FX and CFD trading industry started at FxPro, where he worked for nearly five years, and then moved to EasyMarkets in 2018, before joining Scope Markets in 2019, always holding the same position of Head of Data & Business Intelligence.
