Talos launches new Portfolio Management System for digital assets

Talos

Talos has released a new Portfolio Management System (PMS) that seamlessly integrates all of its portfolio management tools with its order and execution management system (OEMS).

The new PMS expands Talos’s platform to a complete investment management system for digital assets by offering comprehensive front-to-back support for portfolio managers, traders, risk managers, and operations teams.

Earlier this year, Talos integrated into its core platform the portfolio construction technology acquired from D3X Systems which supports the design and management of systematic investment strategies, including tools for strategy backtesting, portfolio optimization, and rebalancing.

“Clients’ needs are expanding beyond execution”

Anton Katz, CEO and Co-Founder of Talos, said: “Digital assets are entering a new era of maturity, and our clients’ needs are expanding beyond execution into all aspects of investment management.

“With the launch of our integrated PMS, Talos is not only meeting the evolving demands of our existing trading clients but is also opening the door to a broader range of institutions, such as venture capital firms and blockchain foundations, looking to manage their portfolios and treasuries.

“This expansion advances our mission to fully integrate digital assets into capital markets by providing institutions with the most comprehensive suite of tools.”

Real-time risk monitoring for spot and derivatives

The provider of institutional trading technology for digital assets now offers institutions real-time risk monitoring for spot and derivatives, leveraging the risk technology recently added through Talos’s acquisition of Cloudwall.

These capabilities are combined with Talos’s existing treasury and settlement capabilities, which include the ability to track positions, monitor P&L, and settle credit with OTC dealers.

Together, these features allow institutions to manage their entire digital asset portfolio with a unified view of positions, P&L, and risk across multiple strategies.

Portfolio roll-ups, reconciliation with exchanges and OTC venues, flexible pricing inputs for P&L calculation

The Talos PMS offers essential features like live risk monitoring, portfolio roll-ups for aggregated views at multiple levels, continuous reconciliation with about 60 exchanges and OTC venues, and flexible pricing inputs for P&L calculation.

By integrating with Talos’s OEMS, it introduces “Workspaces,” tailored for various user profiles throughout the investment lifecycle—portfolio managers, researchers, traders, risk managers, and operations teams—providing a seamless experience for institutional investors on one platform.

Talos delivers institutional-grade technology supporting the entire digital asset investment lifecycle, from liquidity sourcing and price discovery to trading, settlement, lending, borrowing, and portfolio management.

Developed by a team with deep expertise in building institutional trading and portfolio systems, the Talos platform connects institutions to key participants in the digital asset ecosystem, including exchanges, OTC desks, prime brokers, lenders, and custodians.

Talos added DeFi capabilities to its offering

Talos now enables clients to incorporate DeFi into their workflows. This is the result of the newly announced acquisition of Skolem, a technology provider that enables institutional investors to access decentralized finance (DeFi) markets.

Skolem is known for its institutional-grade data and execution infrastructure that enables institutions to trade, stake, lend, and provide liquidity in DeFi.

The acquired firm’s data infrastructure allows for real-time streaming of prices and on-chain metrics, while its user-driven execution technology includes pre-transaction simulations, configurable alerts, order automation, and full transaction accounting.

Talos believes that, as institutional interest in DeFi grows, so too will the demand for a comprehensive technology stack that can provide safety, advanced user execution, and risk management when accessing protocols. Talos is thus investing in the foundations necessary to enable institutions to interact with the complex DeFi ecosystem and to incorporate on-chain data into their workflows.

This is not the first venture into DeFi. Last year, Talos integrated with Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange, to enable clients to more efficiently trade thousands of assets, in a familiar order book format, using Talos’s algorithms. Talos also integrated with Figment, the provider of institutional infrastructure for Ethereum staking, making the staking activity of shared clients viewable on the Talos platform.

Talos partnered with TP ICAP and Crossover Markets

Talos welcomed Crossover’s CROSSx institutional crypto trading venue into its existing provider network that connects digital asset exchanges, OTC desks, prime brokers, lenders, custodians, and more, through a single point of entry.

Talos also integrated with TP ICAP’s Fusion Digital Assets, a UK-regulated spot digital asset exchange. By teaming up with the FCA-regulated market structure firm, the provider of institutional digital asset trading technology will be able to further facilitate institutional adoption of digital assets amid the accelerated growth of cryptocurrency markets buoyed by the US SEC’s approval of Bitcoin ETFs and the EU’s MiCA coming into effect this year.

Fusion Digital Assets provides a competitive trading venue with unique liquidity from both traditional and crypto-native clients of TP ICAP. Talos clients will have access to this liquidity through both API and GUI interfaces.
