BTIG appoints Pavi Sidhu to lead prime broker’s EMEA portfolio

BTIG has appointed Pavi Sidhu as Managing Director within its Equities division, based in the prime broker’s London office, and with the mission to expand the EMEA Portfolio Trading and ETF businesses.

The firm specializes in institutional trading, investment banking, research, and related brokerage services, offering execution, expertise, and insights for equities, equity derivatives, ETFs and fixed income, Forex, and commodities.

The Global Portfolio and ETF Trading division at BTIG executes portfolios across developed, emerging, and frontier markets.  The firm develops solutions for rebalances, cash flow trades and index events worldwide.

Pavi Sidhu is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in Portfolio Trading, having joined BTIG from Exane, where he was Managing Director and Partner, with a focus on Portfolio Trading, ETFs and Index.

Previous roles include Equities Trading and Global Portfolio Trading at HSBC, where he spent seven years. He was also responsible for building out U.S. Portfolio Trading execution at SG Americas Securities.

The prime broker operates across the globe with 700 employees and affiliates throughout the U.S., and in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

As for core capabilities, BTIG offers global execution, portfolio, electronic and outsource trading, transition management, investment banking, prime brokerage, capital introduction, corporate access, research and strategy, and commission management.

BTIG in a hiring spree

In February, BTIG appointed Bradford Ainslie as Managing Director within its Institutional Equities business to increase the client reach of BTIG and expand the ability of the firm to source liquidity.

BTIG’s Institutional Equities team aims to maximize outcomes for market participants by leveraging relationships and accessing more than 50 global market centers, where BTIG sources liquidity on behalf of its 4,000-plus clients worldwide.

Reporting to Richard J. Blank Jr., Managing Director and Head of Global Equities at BTIG, Bradford Ainslie brings over 20 years of industry experience having worked as Managing Partner and President at The Brightwood Group prior to the new challenge.

In December 2021, BTIG promoted Richard Jacklin to Chief Operating Officer of Securities, reporting directly to Scott Kovalik, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BTIG.

Richard Jacklin will focus on driving strategic priorities and capitalizing on synergies across the firm’s Securities division which is inclusive of equities, fixed income, currency and commodities platforms.

The new COO os Securities served in several key leadership roles with BTIG in both the U.S. and across the firm’s affiliate entities in Europe, Asia, and Australia, having most recently served as Head of Client Relationship Management and International Equities at BTIG.
