Charismatic and knowledgeable prime brokerage expert Nick Mortimer has left his position at CFH Group and headed into the retail FX industry by joining MahiFX as Head of Retail Sales.

Mr. Mortimer is a regular commentator on all aspects with regard to prime brokerage and the currently very hot topic of how prime of prime solutions providers and liquidity aggregators interact with banks that are increasingly unwilling to give credit to OTC derivatives firms.

A forthright and well respected figure with very clear opinions, Mr. Mortimer became a very well recognized industry figure during his five years at CFH Group.

This year has not been an easy one for CFH Group. The company having spoken to FinanceFeeds in February this year with regard to its anticipated mergers and acquisitions aspirations, at which time Singapore-based Dipak Rastogi, CEO of Citi Venture Capital International whose tenure at Citigroup spans 33 years in order to assist CFH though its acquisitions drive.

At the time, Christian Frahm, CEO and founder of CFH Group explained to FinanceFeeds “This is what we are now executing, the acquisition of smaller players to put them under our umbrella.”

Tradable, the very sophisticated application based retail trading platform has recently had slow interest, and with MONEX Group having discontinued its relationship with Tradable, it is likely that quite a pinch was felt.

Mr. Mortimer, like many responsible for prime brokerage relationships, is astute as he is steadfast, and indeed his position would have required great negotiation skills and analytical abilities, handling order flow and ensuring that the banks aligned themselves with CFH Group with regard to acceptance of order flow. Any professional who is competent in this very complex and difficult task in this industry deserves tremendous respect.

An ambassador to CFH Group, Mr. Mortimer takes his institutional experience into the retail arena at MahiFX.

Mr Mortimer joine the CFH Markets division of CFH Group in July 2011 from Marex Spectron, where he was Senior Business Development Manager.

For two years, Mr. Mortimer was based in Geneva at ACM (now Swissquote) where he was Head of Liquidity Management. In 2005, Mr. Mortimer joined ABN AMRO in FX Prime Brokerage Sales, a position that he held for 3 years.
