CQG Q3 pilot release becomes available

The release includes new features such as real-time study integration with Microsoft Excel and OTC Block Orders.

Provider of high-performance trading, market data, and technical analysis tools CQG has earlier today announced that the Q3 pilot release for CQG Integrated Client and CQG QTrader has become available and can be downloaded from the corporate website.

Let’s note that, in an effort to provide world-class service to its customers, CQG only forces an upgrade to a new version once a year. However, the company knows that some of its customers want to make use of new functionality more frequently, so CQG releases pilot versions to give customers access to new features and functionality as they are available.

The release includes new features that may be useful for individual traders and brokerage customers. The lineup of such features includes:

  • Real-Time Study Integration with Microsoft Excel

Traders can use datasets in Microsoft Excel to create real-time studies for charting in CQG. Studies are created in Excel and CQG’s integration allows traders to see them in real-time on CQG.

  • Broker External Orders

Traders can place orders into any account, including non-CQG accounts, to manage their full customer book on one trading screen. CQG sends the order based on the account number a trader provides and risk is managed on the broker’s account.

  • OTC Block Orders

CQG’s new matching core facilitates the matching of block orders placed off the exchange. Using anonymous RFQ and response tools, users can post an RFQ for a block order and manage responses in the RFQ manager. CQG’s system matches the orders and reports fills to the user and the exchange.

Earlier this month, CQG rolled out the latest version of CQG Desktop (3.7), which offers a raft of improvements, including pricing display. Ag and fixed income customers can now easily display pricing with separators for fractions, making prices easier to read. To do that, traders have to go to Preferences (gear icon in the lower left), then select “Interface section” and then “Price format”. Afterwards, they have to type in a symbol name in the search field to add it to the customization list and select a preferred format.
