Mr. Ward will not be made a director or a member of IG Group’s board, and will retain his position as Senior Partner at professional services consultancy Deloitte, his position at IG Group being temporary until a permanent Chief Financial Officer has been elected by the board of directors.

Mr. Ward’s secondment to IG Group becomes effective as of January 25, 2016, and he will report directly to the company’s CEO Peter Hetherington.

Mr. Ward leads Deloitte’s UK investment management practice and is the head of the investment management audit group.

He has over 25 years’ experience in banking, insurance and asset management and currently he primarily focuses on risk management, organisation restructuring and other strategic activities such as executive and management information requirements for risk control and business decision making.

IG Group’s former Chief Financial Officer Christopher Hill was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Bristol-based Hargreaves Lansdown during the latter part of last year, Hargreaves Lansdown being the largest financial services company in the UK with a totally domestic client base, and its own multi-asset proprietary platform from which investors can manage all their portfolio from one central solution.
