Also, the Rithmic adapter now support plug-in connection for shared market data.

NinjaTrader, a specialist in trade simulation, advanced charting, market analytics and backtesting, has released a new version (8.0.22.0) of the NinjaTrader 8 platform.

The new version of the solution adds COT indicator, which plots data from the Commitment of Traders reports. These are weekly reports (best viewed on a weekly chart) that are published each Friday showing Tuesday’s open interest from market participants. These reports are available for many futures instruments.

You must enable “Download COT data at startup” within Tools> Options> Market data for this indicator to plot.

Also, the Rithmic adapter now support plug-in connection for shared market data. This mode should only be enabled if instructed by your data provider, it allows re-use of a single market data login between multiple platforms on the same computer and requires some setup prior to use.

Finally, let’s note that TD Ameritrade is requiring migration to a new API, which has been implemented and is released in beta. The API has a lot of similarities between the old, with overall functionality expected to be the same. The new API adds option support for equities and utilizes a new connection type which is only available with supported operating systems, Windows 8 and newer.

In one of the versions of the platform released earlier this year, the quick search was enhanced so that it shows instant results allowing traders to quickly look for and change instruments without having to open a search.

Also, ‘Show account numbers and balances’ setting has been added. It can be disabled to hide these values. Private account values can now be hidden from view by unchecking the ‘Show account number and balances’ property. This gives the ability to have additional privacy when sharing your screen or using NinjaTrader around others.

The AI Generate feature was expanded to allow the use of third party single series indicators.
