Michael Bourke now Managing Partner of Bannockburn Global Forex

After 18 years within senior positions in the interbank FX sector, Michael Bourke has been appointed Managing Partner of Bannockburn Global Forex, a boutique capital markets trading firm specializing in currency advisory and payment services.

Established in 2009 by a team of interbank FX executives including founding partners Richard K Jones and Mark R Wendling, both former FX senior executives at US Bancorp, Bannockburn Global Forex is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mr. Bourke’s appointment as Managing Partner takes the company’s headcount to six, and in keeping with the experience of the firm’s founders, he comes from the interbank division, his last position having been 12 years at Lloyds Banking Group, beginning at the financial giant’s domestic British operations, and latterly moving to its North American division.

Joining Lloyds Banking Group in London in October 2004, Mr. Bourke was Associate Director of Commercial FX Sales, a position he held for 2 years before being promoted to Director of Global Corporate FX Sales in September 2006.

Almost 5 years after this promotion, Mr Bourke was transferred to Lloyds Banking Group’s New York operations, where he assisted the expansion of the FX Sales business for Lloyds Bank’s US Corporate franchise in May 2011.

5 years later, Mr. Bourke has moved on from his position as Senior VP, Global Corporate FX Sales at Lloyds Banking Group in New York to join Bannockburn Global Forex.

Prior to joining Lloyds Banking Group, Mr Bourke was FX Global Markets Specialist in the Corporate and Business Sales division of Commonwealth Bank, based in Sydney, Australia, a post that he held between June 2001 and September 2004.

3 years at Standard Chartered Bank and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ preceded, Mr. Bourke having joined Standard Chartered Bank in Sydney, Australia in July 1998.
