The crew of the LMAX Exchange yacht which is currently participating in the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race has made a somewhat gruesome discovery after stumbling upon a random vessel off the coast of Philippines whilst racing between Australia and Vietnam. With no signs of life aboard, one of the LMAX crew swam out to investigate.

Once aboard the vessel, the crew member was confronted by a quite unusual circumstance in the form of the discovery of the mummified body of missing German sailer Manfred Fritz Bajorat. It appears that at some point the German sailer had passed away and with the combination of the toll taken by both the elements and the passing of time, his body had become mummified slumped over a small table.

Members of the LMAX crew remained with the missing sailer’s yacht whilst the authorities made their way over to investigate further. Albeit a horrifying discovery for the LMAX crew members and circumstances of his death; finding the missing sailor has obviously provided closure to friends, family and loved ones whom up until this point presumed him dead or missing at sea.

FinanceFeeds has been following the remarkable progress that the LMAX Exchange yacht has made during its participation in the Antipodean leg of the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race, and has won stages, as well as led initial stages for a considerable length of time.

Navigating the high seas at competition level is indeed a skill which requires fine honing and in this case, the quick action taken by LMAX crew demonstrates the need to think about other dimensions when navigating the waters as the conditions differ tremendously from those on land.
