The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) announces a strategic partnership with OpenFin, leveraging the latter’s advanced technology to improve the distribution and interoperability of the flagship LSEG Workspace platform, ultimately transforming the experience for financial market professionals.

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is taking a significant step forward in enhancing user experience by partnering with OpenFin, the leading Chromium container and workspace technology provider for the financial industry. This collaboration aims to streamline the distribution of LSEG’s next-generation data and analytics to customer desktops using OpenFin’s secure zero-install delivery model and container technology.

LSEG Workspace, a comprehensive platform, provides wealth advisors, research analysts, portfolio managers, investment bankers, and traders access to premium financial data, news, analytics, and productivity tools. The platform’s intuitive end-user experience has made it a popular choice across the financial industry.

Dean Berry, Group Head of Trading & Banking Solutions at LSEG, emphasized the significance of a seamless user experience, stating, “Transforming user experience starts with the seamless delivery of LSEG Workspace to customer desktops. OpenFin significantly enhances our delivery model and end-user experience, leveraging technology trusted by most global banks and leading asset managers.”

With OpenFin’s technology already deployed to more than 3,800 banks and buy-side firms, it has become the industry standard for Chromium container solutions. As part of the partnership, LSEG will migrate the LSEG Workspace platform to OpenFin’s technology, ensuring seamless deployment and interoperability with thousands of internal applications developed by banks and buy-side customers.

Adam Toms, CEO of OpenFin Europe, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with LSEG on their digital transformation journey. We believe the work they’re doing will be truly transformative for our mutual customers and for the industry overall.”

OpenFin’s unique position as the only container technology provider that maintains co-stability with Google Chromium ensures continuous and seamless delivery of critical security patches and enhancements to the Chromium engine for end-users. In addition, the company’s zero-install model, designed in collaboration with major financial institutions, guarantees security and stability while enabling agile delivery.

Borre Wessel, Head of Desktop Platform Technology, added: “As technologists we greatly appreciate OpenFin’s commitment to open web standards and their rigorous process for keeping up with Google Chromium. We will leverage their technology to deliver LSEG Workspace cross-platform to both Windows and Mac devices.”

The partnership between LSEG and OpenFin signals a promising step in the digital transformation journey for the financial market as it continues to optimize the user experience and drive innovation.
