New version of CQG Desktop platform makes enhancements to quotes and charting
Version 4.7 of the platform enables traders to sort a QSS and SST by symbol.
Provider of high-performance trading, market data, and technical analysis tools CQG has announced an update to the CQG Desktop platform, with the enhancements concerning quotes and charting.
For starters, traders get the ability to sort a QSS (Quote SpreadSheet) and SST by symbol. Now, like any of the other columns in QSS/SST, clicking on the column header will sort by that column. It is a 3-state toggle, so clicking on the column will toggle between ascending, descending, then back to manual sort.
Right-click to cancel orders has become available on HOT and SST. To turn this feature on, go to Preferences > Trading and symbol settings > Allow right-click to cancel orders on HOT and SST.
Let’s also note that bracket orders are now available on the Order Ticket. Further, position margin in the Account Summary widget is now received directly from the risk server.
Finally, chart thermometer dotted lines now only span the length of the days’ session. To make the thermometer or the net change thermometer visible, click the gear icon in the chart toolbar. Then click on the eye icon to make the thermometer appear on the chart.
CQG regularly enhances its platforms. In CQG Desktop Version 4.5, for instance, columns to display yield values for fixed income symbols were added. Further, traders got the ability to hide market order buttons. Also, when HOT is in focus, typing in a number changes the order size.
In terms of charting, BATS (bid, ask, trade, settlement) setting was added. To change the BATS setting, on the chart, click on the gear icon beside the symbol, either in the manage chart dialog or on the chart surface.
The version of the solution released in late June enabled filtering by any column in Quote SpreadSheet (QSS). To access this feature, click on the filter icon in the toolbar in the upper right of the QSS window. It will reveal a filter bar below the column headers. Then click on the filter icon in the column you want to filter, then select a condition from the dropdown.
That version of the platform also added exchange as a column in QSS and SpreadSheet Trader, and adds ISIN number to CSPEC. Regarding trading, in version 4.4 of the platform, child orders in a bracket can have separate duration from the parent order.
