Lord Flight joins two APAC executives as new R5FX board member

Emerging markets FX firm R5FX, headed by entrepreneur Jon Vollameare, has added three new board members to its team.

Despite its emphasis on the five BRICS economies, blue blood is now an integral part of the board at R5FX, with Lord Flight having been elected.

Lord Flight is a Conservative politician, as well as a member of the House of Lords and is a director of several financial organizations with a bent toward the emerging markets. He is also on the board of directors of several well known companies including Investec asset Management as well as being Chairman of CIM Investment Management.

Alongside Lord Flight, Eng Huat Tan joins the board, bringing with him thirty five years of experience across large institutions, most recently having held the position of Head of Global Treasury at OCBC in Singapore, preceded by senior executive positions at Dresdner Bank, Swiss Bank Corporation and Overseas Union Bank, all in Singapore.

Chung Min Pang has also been elected to the board of R5FX, a professional with three and a half decades of experience in the institutional sector, with roles which include Country Manager for China at Bank of America behind him. Previous roles include Country Manager for China at Solomon Brothers, and further executive positions at the World Bank, advising on matters relating to Eastern European Markets.

Jon Vollemaere, CEO of R5FXFlight, Eng Huat and Chung Min bring a wealth of financial markets experience to our board, with specific expertise in emerging markets. Their senior level relationships will help to expand our community of banks, non-bank market participants, central bankers and regulators. With a detailed understanding of emerging market trading, our board has helped to define our proposition and deliver true innovation, moving R5FX forward significantly as we progress towards launch.
