IG works on new options interface for web platform
The developer team hopes to have the new interface live near the end of the Summer but there is no firm date for the launch at this point.
Since online trading firm IG Group Holdings plc (LON:IGG) started rolling out its new web trading platform early this year, it has been getting questions from clients on the addition of more trading instruments. The “Coming Soon” section of IG’s website promises the addition of Digital100s, CFDs and Options on the new platform at some point in the future, whereas traders are welcome to trader these instruments via IG’s mobile applications and classic platform in the meantime.
The developers’ team, however, has indicated that the introduction of options trading is not that far away in the future.
In response to a question about the availability of commodity options for trading on the new web platform, IG’s team say that they are still in the process of creating the new options interface for this platform. This interface is set to include some new features requested by clients and some that IG find useful.
The company hopes that this would be live near the end of the Summer but no firm date can be announced yet.
The new web trading platform has been markedly enhanced since the start of its rollout. The latest set of improvements about which FinanceFeeds reported earlier this week focus on enhancing work with watchlists, signals and technical analysis. Let’s mention one of the new additions – Fibonacci extensions have become available to the new platform charts.
Earlier improvements have focused on simplifying work with order tickets and signals.
In terms of charting functionalities, one useful solution is the online charting software for technical analysis & trading ProRealTime. In March this year, IG announced the rollout of this software to all countries where the broker operates. The 10.3 version of the software allows the use of game pads as input devices and offers improved detailed reports, including performance charts. Traders can view and assess their weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly performance. There are also improvements to the quick access interface which has new order types added to it that were previously only available in the advanced interface. The variety of new order types includes Stop with limit protection, One cancels the other, At market if touched, etc.
